{"id":216,"date":"2006-11-11T13:03:39","date_gmt":"2006-11-11T11:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lucas-nussbaum.net\/blog\/?p=216"},"modified":"2006-11-11T13:03:39","modified_gmt":"2006-11-11T11:03:39","slug":"feature-request-confirmation-for-non-member-posts-in-mailman","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lucas-nussbaum.net\/blog\/?p=216","title":{"rendered":"Feature request: confirmation for non-member posts in mailman"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There are basically two kinds of setups for mailing lists managed using Mailman, regarding posts from non-members :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Accept posts from non-members.<\/strong> This lead to quite a lot of spam on the list, but also to no work for the moderators.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Put posts from non-members in a moderation queue.<\/strong> This result in a spam-free mailing list, but also in a lot of work for moderators, and in posts delayed for days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It would be great if Mailman could ask the sender for confirmation (either email-based or web-based) before accepting the mail or putting it in the moderation queue. This would greatly reduce the amount of spam on the list or in the moderation queue.<\/p>\n<p>This is also known as <a href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/tracker\/index.php?func=detail&#038;aid=673265&#038;group_id=103&#038;atid=350103\">Mailman feature request #673265<\/a>.
